Khabarovsk, apparently. And it's early this year. Last year it at least had the decency to wait until Halloween. Oh well.
Today being PDay and all, Sister Volkova and I made our way over to the nearest... market... (I can't remember how it translates in English, okay?) where I was once again reminded that Russians may be the only people in the world who DON'T want you to buy their merchandise. Or at least, not the merchandise you want to purchase. If you'll take whatever's handed to you, that's fine, but don't even THINK about touching anything or they'll bite your hands off. I nearly lost three fingers today. On the plus side though, I did end up with a new pair of boots and a couple of pairs of earrings. That last one, for the record, is Sister Volkova's fault. She's worse than I am when it comes to sparkly things. The boots are... interesting, that's for sure, but they're comfortable and they keep my feet warm, so I guess that's all I really need in life. I wanted to get myself a fur hat as well (for the record, they really do keep your head nice and warm in the winter), but I didn't pull enough money out of my bank account and there were no ATMs nearby. Maybe next week. Or the week after. I'll send pictures when I actually get one.
This week we spent more time running around like chickens with our heads cut off, and therefore I consider us successful. We got a new investigator as a result of a referral from one of my investigators in Vlad, and he's awesome. President Pratt has also decided (through, I'm convinced, the medium of revelation) that we are no longer planting seeds, so we've got a goal of ten baptisms before the end of the year in our district. You're prayers, incidentally, would be appreciated in that. No wait, I need to rephrase that: Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you for all the many many many prayers you send my way. Really. I don't know what I'd do without them. It's impossible to express the gratitude I have for all of you. And if you could add this one little thing, I'd be even more grateful. I'm pretty sure we're going to see miracles.
On Saturday we had Sports Night (which, I may add, I'm not entirely sure why we still continue, seeing as how it's a summer thing and summer ended... three months ago, but okay), which is a night where we invite all of our investigators and all the members with whom we're working and go and play some kind of sport for an hour. This week it was pouring, but none of the leadership (see also: elders) was in the mood to cancel, so we played frisbee in the rain. It was actually pretty fun, and we managed to stay warm as long as we kept moving. Good times, good times.
In any case, the computer has informed me that I have no time left. I love you all, I hope your week goes well, and I expect stories. See also: go to the temple, please?
